COMPANY HISTORY
DeVor Tool and
Die was founded by the late Robert G. DeVor in 1956. In its
early years, the firm specialized in tool and die building, with
particular
expertise in the area of precision contour grinding of tool steels and
carbides. After the passing of its founder in 1971, the company
continued along those lines until 1978 when it expanded its
capabilities. At this time, Gerald Roth joined the firm as its
general manager, bringing with him more than 25 of years experience in
tool and die making. The company began to grow modestly in size
and scope but for the most part continued its tool and die making
tradition.
In 1988, DeVor
Tool and Die embarked on an ambitious expansion program, with
particular emphasis on precision production machining. By early
1991, the firm had over 20 employees and had acquired its second
location where its production machining facilities were housed. The production machining division became so
successful that, in 1994, we were fortunate to be able to
consolidate both of our tool and die and production machining divisions
into one 20,000 square foot facility which is where we currently
reside.
